The Five Brooks Campground in Olema, California (located about 10 minutes south of Point Reyes and an hour north of San Francisco), is a favorite among local equestrians. This is a primitive campground, shared water, hitching posts, no RV dump. There are restrooms located about a 1/4 mile above the campground.
We went into town our first night and ate at Due West. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Point Reyes, because they almost always have fresh oysters from Tomales Bay. We got there early enough that we were able to take advantage of their Happy Hour special - a half dozen oysters for $12, basically half-price. I believe between the three of us we ate two dozen oysters.
I continue to have to work remotely, so Elaine and Ari did a ride on their own one day and I joined them for a ride the second day (stealing time for a ride between on-line meetings called GVCs - Google Video Chats.)
The trails in this area are so beautiful. Fairly well marked and not too difficult.
Elaine was able to arrange for a local farrier to come in and put shoes all around on her horse, Chuck. Our two horses got barefoot trims.
