Ari and the horses loved this horse motel. The hosts, Steve and Carol, were just lovely. They are lay ministers and host Christian-based equine therapy as well as tent revivals. They don’t charge for any of their clinics or ministry work. Their income is derived from their airbnb and horse motel.
Our horses shared a beautiful pasture - $10/night per horse. They barely touched their hay and focused on grazing. There are trails nearby (about a mile down the road), but the temperature was still in the low 100’s, so we didn’t ride.
We got water/electric hook-up and access to their WIFI for $35/night. It was quiet and peaceful and just lovely. The town of Rockford is only about ten minutes away with plenty of shops and places to eat. We were even able to buy some hay from them for $8/bale. There was a feed store close by and Ari replenished our grain stores and bought some other items we needed.
Ari had wanted to extend our stay, but I had pre-paid for our campsite at Walworth County Fairgrounds. I wanted a day or so to settle in there, before we re-united with our son Benjamin, daughter-in-law Rose, and grandson Zane who are flying in to spend a week with us at Lake Geneva in Wisconsin.

I am SO curious as to what "Christian-based equine therapy" is... do they pray over or for the horses? Is it like physical therapy?
